Meet the fish that live in the sea of Izu! Experience Diving Program Starts at Shimoda Underwater Aquarium’s Large Tank!

Dolphin Beach, a petting program reception area in Shimoda Underwater Aquarium, Izu Peninsula, will start a hands-on diving program at the Aquadome Perry Large Aquarium on March 25, 2023 (Saturday). Diving in the large tank, whose theme is to reproduce the sea of Izu, is a program that can be enjoyed by parents and children as well as inexperienced divers who dive for the first time.

The tank is filled with a wide variety of creatures!

The Shimoda Underwater Aquarium’s large aquarium “Aqua Dome Perry,” where the diving experience takes place, is home to 10,000 creatures in 50 species, including fish, invertebrates, and seaweed. Scuba diving in the aquarium, whose theme is “reproduction of the rich Izu Sea,” is an experience dive and does not require a C-card. Inexperienced divers are welcome.

The acrylic glass tank allows visitors to watch the diving experience from the outside, and to take commemorative photos with family and friends outside the tank during the dive. This is a great way to enjoy the large tank.

The instructors will take care of you while you are underwater, so you can dive with peace of mind.
