Hello! My name is Take-chan Miyake .
This time, I went diving at Goshimane in Ito, Higashi Izu, which is open for a limited time! It has recently been attracting attention on social media, and last year it became so popular that the diving period was extended.
Speaking of Ito, there are soft corals, redfish, and dynamic terrain with shadows of fish!
As I wrote in a previous article, Goshimane has the image of a point that enhances each feature one step further. There are three points in Goshimane: north, middle, and south, but the one I’m personally paying attention to is the south point, where there are many green herring goats!
Hey everyone! Have you ever seen a green herring goat?
Not really (lol).
The herring goat comes in three colors: orange, yellow, and green. If you look closely, it’s cylindrical.莢SayaCan you see the tentacles blooming and growing like flowers? The key point is whether these tentacles bloom or not. The common goat goat itself is commonly seen in areas such as the Izu area and Miura, but there are points in Ito where green common goats grow in large numbers. This is a unique and very rare area to see.
First of all, I would like to introduce the shop that helped me this time.As with the previous Ito article, it is Hide from Dive Family Yellow !
And what! NEW staff has joined us! We are also indebted to Ms. Aya Masuda (Massan), an energetic girl with a strong sense of humor and a strong heart.
What is Ito’s limited time point “Goshimane”?
Now, the main topic is Goshimane, which is pronounced “Goto-jine” and can be reached in about 10 minutes by boat from the fishing port. It will be open from mid-May, and you can dive until September 15th in 2023.
(I would be happy if it was extended again this year. Please extend it, my heart says.)
There are several boating points in Ito, but among them, Goshimane is located in the open ocean, has good tides, and can see many migratory fish. Due to the limited time available for divers, the soft corals are particularly lively. In particular, the cluster of wild goats at the southern point is a sight to behold.
Ah, if the tentacles were blooming (lol).
What is Goshima Neminami, the hill where green lily pads bloom?
There is a small net head just after diving from the buoy south of Goshima root. The top is 8m high, so you can see flocks of wild goats in shallow water. I said that you can see it, but the way it looks changes greatly depending on whether or not the tentacles are blooming or not. When not in bloom, each tree looks like a collection of thick branches.
If you look at the right corner of the next photo, there are some spots that are a little greener. As the tentacles are not showing, you can see that the branches are exposed.
When I asked Mr. Hide about the conditions under which tentacles appear, he said that they are more likely to appear when the tide is flowing or when the water is dark, but it seems that more observation is needed. He said that there was one absolute condition for the tentacles to come out.
“Go to the point with 100% belief!”
picture? Is it psychology?
I feel safe when I’m on a team with people who have a strong positive mentality (lol).
All of the soft corals in the Nishi-Izu area withered, and Ito’s poster girl, who wouldn’t let them come out, dived with me, but we were able to see the third one in full bloom! A good tide was coming in, and there were also flocks of goldfish!
You can take photos that are reminiscent of the lush green earth by focusing on a colony of lizards, or you can take photos that include lots of pink threaded soft corals and red sea breams.
Soft corals that look like colorful flowers and Arun yam are in full bloom as they hit the tide, and as you stand there, you will feel the movement of life in nature, and your heart will be enveloped in a calm feeling. This is a special place where you can forget about time and get absorbed in your time. Amidst this vivid sea, your heart will be filled with emotion that goes beyond words.
First of all, I would like you to take a wide shot, but I think it would be fun to take a macro photo with a porcupine goat. However, as I mentioned earlier, the tentacles are often visible when the water is flowing, so you will be photographing while being washed away. Taking macro photos while swimming against the current is extremely difficult (lol).
Look, the current is so strong that even the goldfish are hiding behind the rockfish.
In addition to the point where you can see the porcupine goat, there are other points where you can find yellow-spotted yellowtail at a depth of 30m, and schools of soft coral and black-spotted rockfish at a depth of about 25m, so you can enjoy it at other points as well.
Anperts and divers dancing in a colorful forest
Goshima-minami can be enjoyed even in shallow waters, so we recommend going on the second or third run. So, how about playing in Goshima Nekita for the first time? This time, the members were experienced with diving, so we took them to Hide’s favorite spot, which was a short swim from north of Goshima. The water depth is over 30m, but there were many soft corals and female Sakuradai, making it worth seeing. It’s a typical Izu scene.
Even if you don’t swim this far, there are quite a few swarms of goldfish even at a depth of around 20 meters in front of you.
When a diver has a light, he or she will want to include it in the angle of view. It adds a sense of scale, dynamism, and visual appeal, so I’d like to see more of them!
On the boat after going up, everyone was so excited that we even had conversations like, “Isn’t there a huge amount of goldfish over there?!” We could play there forever!
Ito Divers Day was so much fun that I hadn’t planned on.
This time, I visited Ito from June 16th to 17th, and surprisingly, Ito Divers Day was being held on the 17th. It is usually held in May, but this year it seems that the sea conditions were bad so it was changed to this date.
The fishing port was filled with diving equipment manufacturers and people from Ito Fishing Port, and it was in a festive mood!
You can monitor the equipment for free, enjoy free seafood BBQ, and even go on a treasure hunt in the ocean and win lots. picture? Is it such a fun event? And it was very fresh.
The Dive Family Yellow Team seemed to be talking the other day that there are many people who want to enjoy underwater photography, so no one would go on a treasure hunt, but no, no, there’s no one who doesn’t get excited about a treasure hunt! ! !
So I forgot about reporting and taking photos, and continued searching by tracing the sand thoroughly, peering into crevices in the rocks, and circling around the buoy while everyone was at a safety stop. .
As a result, I found one! ! ! Only one…it’s embarrassing…(lol).
When we got on the boat, most of the people had found stones. Among them, some people found the gold treasure, and I think they were the team that found the most stones.
Dive Family Yellow supports everything from underwater photography to treasure hunting! How reassuring (lol)!!
We all took our treasures and drew lots. I received many prizes including a TUSA bag, a dried fish set, a hat, a waterproof bag, and canned mackerel!
Personally, I was looking for stones that would give me special prizes, such as gold stones and black stones, so I was disappointed! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Would you like to try it with me next year? (lol)
Well, last but not least,
this time we had a first-time visitor who came after reading the previous article about Ito, and some good friends that I often meet when I come to Ito! From the left: Yusuke,
a diver of the same age who freely dives around the oceans of Japan and overseas , Sae-chan, Ito’s poster girl who is famous for making the soft corals of the west wilt, and Yasuyo , an athlete diver who is stoic when it comes to underwater photography ! Thank you for always having a great time! !
How did you like Goshimane for a limited time? Hurry up because the time to dive will be over in no time!
Well then, I’m looking forward to seeing you all on the Ito Sea!!
