Oceana representative Kawamoto has been appointed as a Helly Hansen ambassador! Participated as a lecturer in a training session to learn about the “value of Japan’s oceans”

Kawamoto, the representative of Oceana Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Oceana), which operates the media “ocean+α” , has been appointed as the ambassador of “ Helly Hansen ” , a brand operated by sports apparel manufacturer “ Goldwin Co. , Ltd.” (hereinafter referred to as Goldwin). It was decided to do so. On July 19, 2023, as part of his ambassador activities, he will be on stage as a lecturer for a training session within the company to learn about the “value, fun, and splendor of Japan’s oceans.”

Oceana representative becomes Helly Hansen ambassador!

Helly Hansen, a brand that develops high-performance items suitable for a wide range of outdoor fields from the sea to the mountains, has yachting as its core sport, and although the type of activity is different from our company, which is mainly active in the diving industry, our main activity is the same ocean. It is considered a field.

Both companies have a common desire to “convey the value of playing in the sea to as many people as possible,” and Oceana’s “experiences” that serve as a bridge between knowledge and action, starting with “playing” in the sea and water. Goldwyn sympathized with the company’s purpose of “creating a rich world within our daily lives,” which led to Kawamoto’s appointment as ambassador.

In addition to supporting Oceana’s activities by providing Helly Hansen items, we plan to collaborate with them by providing advisory services and speaking at in-house training sessions as a lecturer in order to convey Helly Hansen’s ideas to the world.

Learn about “the value, enjoyment, and splendor of Japan’s oceans”

On July 19, 2023, as part of our ambassador activities, Goldwin employees will learn more about Japan’s oceans and convey the joy of playing in the ocean to as many people as possible. I served as a lecturer for a training course to learn about “fun and wonder.”

During the training, participants will learn about the project “Japan’s Seas and Culture,” which reconsiders the value of Japan’s oceans, as well as the knowledge that Kawamoto has personally seen and experienced through his work as a media reporter all over the country, and the oceans he is actually working on with local governments. We talked about the current state of sea activities in Japan and the value of Japan’s seas, based on examples of solving regional issues based on the above.

The special points about Japan’s seas are that it is a rare country where coral and drift ice can be seen at the same time, and that even if an accident occurs at sea, emergency transportation can be carried out within two hours. He also mentioned that the city has a very high value in the tourism industry, such as “seaside play and a city area with recreational facilities adjacent to each other”.

In addition, through our work with local governments, we realized that “even the local residents are unaware of the value and splendor of the local sea.” We hope that by having each person come into contact with the sea, we can change their perceptions. He expressed his opinion that it was necessary to go. At the end of the training, participants were able to deepen their understanding of the value, enjoyment, and splendor of Japan’s oceans through question-and-answer sessions and discussions.

In the future, our company and Helly Hansen will continue to work together to pursue the value, fun, and splendor of Japan’s oceans, and to work to convey the value of sea play to as many people as possible.
